madwomanwithaboxThere's been something that's been brewing in my brain for a long while, and I wanted a general consensus on the idea from you, my trusted peers, colleagues, and fellow maniacs. I've yet to see this in the LOST fandom, but I think it could work, given I've seen a lot of fodder for it...and I mean a LOT.
Ready? Here goes...
Who here would like to ride the Lyric Wheel?
*squints* I can see a blank stare or two out there. Okay, folks who are hep, bear with me for a sec. Newbies, gather 'round...
A lyric wheel is like a ficathon...you sign up to write a story, and then a list is compiled. You are assigned a person's name, and to that person you send a set of song lyrics. The song itself is not required. In turn, someone else will be assigned YOUR name and send YOU a set of lyrics. The object of this game is to write a fic, using at least one line from the song in your story. It can't be a song someone's hearing, it has to be part of your story...a character can say it, think it, you can use it descriptively, but you have to weave one or more lines from the song into the story.
If you'd like an example, behold this half-assed masterpiece from the OZ fandom. It's slash, and it's dark...and it's unbeta'd and the formatting's all messed up. LOL But that was my own first lyric wheel submission. I got lucky there...several lines are in that story. But...like I said. Required: at least one.
With me so far? Good.
I'd like to see a Lost lyric wheel, so I'm thinkin' about going for it...does this idea seem interesting to anyone else?
