The island gave him super sperm and Kate had Sawyer's kid. I'm betting he bailed or she ran. Sawyer was in that coffin and Kate is your average single mom with a record.

I LIKE OPTION #1 BETTAR! Cause if it was anyone else's funeral other than Sawyers? Why would Jack be all "homg why didn't you go?" and why were no other survivors there.

That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it. :P I'm seriously, SERIOUSLY convinced that Kate's got a kid in that ending scene. Primarily?

SHE WOULDN'T BE THERE IF SHE DIDN'T HAVE SOMETHING TYING HER DOWN HARDCORE.

Which brings me to a new theory. *points to comments w/mysticxf* What if the baby is Jack's? Then she'd TOTEZ still be around rather than doing her running thing.

Juliet took Kate OFF the island in the sub in order to artificially inseminate her with Jack's child (because "he's cute") and prove her theory that something ON the island happens at conception that damns the pregnancy. So Kate doesn't die, they get rescued, but she THINKS the baby is Sawyer's -- this creats a rift between Jack and Kate -- and leaves BOTH men to start a new life without THEM and with her child.

(I thought the person who answered the phone sounded like a boy of about 11-13, do you think the FF goes that far into the future?)

Further discussion of this theory this morning with the glorious, devastatingly sexy bitch known as rogueapprentice also led me to a similar conclusion: what if the baby is Jack's? Because I am CONVINCED there's a baby.

My new amendment to the theory? They aren't getting off the island. Something will delay their rescue, and Kate I HOPE I HOPE I HOPE sleeps with Jack.

But that's just my inner shipper flailing about. Your theory makes more sense and is awesome. Yesh. :P

Well, the problem with Jack and Kate having sex and conceiving would be if she conceives ON the island, she'll die. Obviously she's not dead, so all her cage romps with Sawyer didn't produce anything. BUT, if Kate got knocked up OFF island (via Juliet's 'test'), then she could have all the sex she wants with Jack... you know, jungle, waterfall, lakes, ocean, rocks, trees...

I still question the timeline of that future thing. Is it three months in the future, or ten years. They certainly made Kate look "mature" (and extra glowy.)
